Addition to “Museo delle cappelle Medicee”, Florence (I)

The key concepts that inspired the project are the following:

  • Functional flexibility
  • Modularity as underlying shaping frame
  • Organisation of the visitors routes as “narrative paths”, or in other words as tools for assembling exhibited objects and spaces along a coherent “montage of attractions”
  • Dialogue with the context not through the imitation of its material aspects but by trying to grasp the deep spirit and the intimate “ratio” of Florentine Renaissance architecture
  • Creation of pause spaces where people can stop to contemplate or even meet with each other during and after the visit
